Some of us learned everything we know about the tango from watching Al Pacino in the movie Scent of a Woman.

Argentina's Ambassador to China Gustavo A. Martino gave Beijing a closer look last week, when he yielded the stage at his garden party to a troupe of tango dancers.

A merry crowd was on hand to celebrate Argentina's national day and the country's 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China.

Joining Martino onstage for the formal ceremony were Jiang Shusheng, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee; Norberto Yahuar, visiting Argentine minister of agriculture livestock and fishing; and Xie Hangsheng, Chinese vice-minister of foreign affairs.

Later, the four men unveiled new postage stamps issued in Argentina to mark the anniversary.
