China will issue a full set of policies for energy-saving and new energy vehicles, National Business Daily reported Friday.

"It's not right to suppose the government favors electric cars over hybrid cars based solely on current policies," said Dong Yang, the executive vice president and secretary of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

"Hybrid will be the most frequently used new technology in the next five years", Dong told the reporter.

According to the newspaper, the policies suggest China is ready to change its strategy to promote the development of new-energy vehicles.
