China's foreign trade jumps 44% in Jan

BEIJING - China's foreign trade surged by 43.9 percent year-on-year to $295 billion in January, the General Administration of Customs said on Monday.

Exports rose by 37.7 percent year-on-year to $150.7 billion while imports increased by 51 percent to $144.3 billion.

The trade surplus shrank by 53.5 percent year-on-year to $6.5 billion in January.
