BEIJING - China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said Friday it will strengthen supervision on program trading after recent sharp ups and downs in the stock market.
Program trading is a type of trading in securities, usually consisting of a basket of stocks that are executed by a computer program simultaneously based on predetermined conditions.
The CSRC said program trading amplifies gains and losses and increases market fluctuations.
