Ideas to boost Guangzhou e-commerce sector

As one of the main promotional activities of "shopping online for Guangzhou manufactured products," a conference was held on Dec 25 at Poly World Trade Center, Pazhou, Guangzhou.
The theme of the event, 2013 Guangdong International E-commerce Conference, is to fuse innovative ideas in transforming and upgrading the manufacturing industry in Guangdong province.
The conference was organized by the committee of "shopping online for Guangzhou manufactured products" and jointly undertaken by southcn.com and the Guangzhou Commission of Economy and Information Technology. Hundreds of e-commerce industrial insiders, academic research institutes and local enterprises had joined the conference.
Panel discussions, such as e-commerce and economic transformation, TD-LTE 4G networks and online shopping development, traditional manufacture industrial upgrading and effective business models of e-commerce have been held though the meeting.
Liu Zhigeng, vice-governor of Guangdong province, delivered a keynote speech at the conference. According to Liu, e-commerce has been seen as a new network mode of economic activity, which creatively applies information technology to the manufacturing industry and people's daily life.
He said that in recent years, Guangdong's provincial committee and government have attached great importance to the development of e-commerce. Since the launch of the website platform, "shopping online for Guangzhou manufacture products," organized by Guangdong Provincial Commission of Economy and Information Technology in August 2012, many traditional manufacturing enterprises have started to invest in e-commerce and make profits from it.
