The Ministry of Commerce has renewed anti-dumping duties on epichlorohydrin (ECH), a substance used in the production of plastic, from Russia, South Korea, the United States and Japan, for another five-years, effective from Thursday.

A statement on the ministry's website on Wednesday said the decision came after a year-long review of the previous five-year plan on duties on imported ECH, which concluded a suspension of them on the material from the four countries would lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping, which could be detrimental to the domestic industry.

Within the previous plan, ECH anti-dumping duties rose as high as 71.5 percent, but the ministry said the rate would now be unchanged in the next five years.
