China stocks end sharply higher Monday

BEIJING - China stocks closed sharply higher and tested the key psychological marks Monday, lifted by investors' moves to buy shares of resources companies.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.83 percent, or 53.91 points, to end at 2,996.21, just a few points from the key 3,000 mark.
The Shenzhen Component Index surged 247.04 points, or 1.92 percent, to cross the 13,000 mark to close 13,140.88 points.
