China stocks close up Wednesday

BEIJING - China's stocks rose Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.62 percent, or 17.26 points, to finish at 2,821.31 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed up 0.2 percent, or 24.81 points, to end at 12,409.98 points.
Combined turnover shrank to 156.91 billion yuan ($23.59 billion), down from 169.78 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Gainers outnumbered losers 656 to 255 in Shanghai and 853 to 357 in Shenzhen.
