According to Lv Xuefang, project manager of the China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Cooperation, around 15 Chinese publishing houses participated in the event this year.
The comic series published by the People's Fine Arts Publishing House, featuring both Chinese folk stories and foreign classic literature adaptations, are especially unique due to their drawing style and colors.
To teach people more about Chinese comic books, a showcase was held on March 25 during the fair to introduce these classic works, in particular the style and development of traditional Chinese comic series.
Apart from comics, a series of books about China's political, economic and cultural achievements were also displayed at the fair.
The book fair ran from March 23 to 27, displaying books from more than 1,000 publishing houses from 45 countries and regions.
