14-year-old girl admitted to Fudan University
As top gaokao scorers have made headlines across the country over a month after the national college entrance exam, a 14-year-old girl from Dongguan, South China's Guangdong province came under the spotlight for being admitted into China's prestigious Fudan University in Shanghai.
The girl, Yuan Yifan, will attend the natural science experimental class in Fudan in September, while most of her primary school classmates will attend high school.
According to Southern Metropolis Daily, Yuan, a straight A student, skipped three grades in primary school.
Some acquaintances have attributed Yuan's success to her hard work, while others said Yuan might have inherited her intelligence from her father, who was admitted to Wuhan University, a renowned university in Central China, at the age of 15.
