70-year-old pays debt for late son
Li Kaicheng suffered the agony of losing son in 2009 when the young man died of road accident. But what's worse, his son had left the parents a debt of nearly one million yuan ($161,251).
The man, then in his late sixties, whose name means "integrity", made up his mind to repay the huge debt for the rest of his life. Farming, raising pigs and doing odd jobs… Li tried all possible means to raise money. After several years' efforts, he has paid a total of more than 400,000 yuan, with part of the debt forgiven by creditors who were moved by his integrity.
Li said he would not stop paying the debt until his last breath.
