Rory Slater
Executive assistant manager of food and beverage at The Ritz-Carlton Beijing

Where are you going this National Day holiday?
Thailand, Phulay Bay.
How do you buy tickets and make hotel reservations?
I use my travel agent Silicon as I can't stand the confusion and problems associated with booking directly in China. For the hotel, I'll call my friend Carlos at RC. He'll take care of me.
What have been your favorite destinations during past National Day holidays? Why?
Guilin in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Beautiful scenery like the Avatar movie.
What do you enjoy most and least when you travel during the National Day holidays?
The weather is always good in Beijing. But going anywhere near the airport is always crazy with the crowds.
Will you bring a camera or just a smartphone for taking pictures? Will you post thoughts and pictures on social media when you travel?
Smartphone only and I'm not a social poster. I just WeChat a few friends.
