SHENZHEN - Four people died and another was injured after they tried to flee from police during a raid on a gambling den on Saturday in Shenzhen, in south China's Guangdong Province, according to local police.
Early on Saturday morning, police received reports of gambling and inspected a leisure club in the Longgang district of Shenzhen, said the Longgang sub-bureau of Shenzhen Public Security Bureau.
The suspects noticed plain-clothed officers and started to run by jumping from the third floor of the building.
Police stopped some people, but others had already jumped.
Four of them were confirmed dead after emergency treatment failed. One person was receiving treatment at a local hospital, said police.
