New York Fashion week is a semi-annual event that held in every Feburary and September in New York City. Inaugurated as "Press Week" in 1943 by Eleanor Lambert who wanted to give American designers chance to showcase their work, now It is one of the four major fashion weeks, along with Paris, London and Milan. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week launched its first shows at Lincoln Center after its historic move from Bryant Park where it had been held since 1993.
