Man specializes in saving drowning people

A 50-year-old Henan man has rescued 31 people from drowning in the Yellow River, winning him the reputation of "rescue specialist"and the title of "national moral model" conferred by the government.

Wang Xiguang said when he was 12, he was saved from drowning by nearby fishermen, and since then he decided to practice swimming to save other people's lives. He and his wife opened a small shop along the shore of the Yellow River in Wangcun town of Xingyang city, where he has four life vests, so whenever he hears there is someone drowning he can reach the site first.
