A wild giant panda carrying her cub between her jaws has been spotted by an outdoor infrared camera in Wujiao Nature Reserve in Jiuzhaigou, Southwest China’s Sichuan province, on Tuesday, Chengdu Economic Daily reported.
In the three clear shots captured by the camera, the mother hurries on her way into the bamboo forest.
"The cub must have been born this year. Usually the cub will stay with its mother until it turns two and a half to three years old," Hu Xueyu, the management director of the reserve said. The Wujiao Reserve, close to two other nature reserves, is full of bamboos shoots which pandas eat.
