Five Phoenixes Building in Fuguo Temple

The Five Phoenixes Building (formerly named “Buddhist Cloud Building”). Located at the north side of Black Dragon Garden, it was built in 1601 and was listed as a Yunnan Key Historical site in 1983. With a length of 20 meters, the shape of the Chinese character “亚”, it has three floors, eight corners, and 24 upturned eaves as a surging phoenix. Thirty-three columns are set there with four major ones of 12 meters. Colorful Taiji dragons and phoenixes are painted on the ceiling. Featured by the architectural style of Han, Tibetan and Naxi nationalities, it resembles the epitome of ancient Chinese architecture.
