CHANGCHUN, Northeast China - Parents of the two-gold Olympic medalist Zhou Yang was awarded an apartment in northeast Chinese Changchun City, capital of Jilin Province, from the local government on Friday.
The 94-square-meter suite with two bedrooms and two living rooms was located in the Chaoyang District of the city, and valued 300,000 yuan (about 43,000 U.S. dollars) approximately.
"It is a surprise to having the flat that solves our housing problem. Zhou Yang can live with us when she comes home," Zhou's mother Wang Shuying said.
Zhou is going to compete in the ladies' 1,000 meters speed skating Saturday at Beijing time and the parents wish their daughter another success, looking for another Olympic medal.
