INCHEON -- China's Cao Yifei was the center of attention in men's 50m rifle three positions medal match Saturday at the Ongnyeon International Shooting Range.

Shooting a total of 455.5 points, he clinched the gold medal and proved his worth as the world's No. 2 in the International Shooting Sports Confederation.

The silver medal went to Zhu Qinan of China while India's Singh Chain claimed the bronze. Cao was ahead of Zhu by 0.3 points and he defended his lead as both marksmen scored a 9.4 in their last shot.

"I'd like to thank you all for being here and I would like to extend my thanks to the organizing committee of the Incheon Asian Games for the support and great hospitality," said Cao after the match.

Meanwhile, bronze medalist Singh Chain seemed pleased about his achievement.

"I'd like to congratulate the other medalists. This is my first Asiad bronze medal so I'm very delighted. Thanks."

In the team event, China finished atop of the podium with Zhu Qinan, Cao Yifei and Kang Hongwei shooting a total of 3,502 points.

South Korea's trio of Han Jin-seop, Kwon Jun-cheol and Kim Jong-hyun took the silver medal with 3,484 points, edging the Japanese out by a margin of three points.

Japanese team of Toshikazu Yamashita, Midori Yajima and Takayuki Matsumoto shot 3,481 points in total -- enough to claim the bronze.

The men's 50m rifle three positions wraps up the shooting events of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. China claimed the most medals and South Korea followed. The two countries won a total of 46 and 25 medals, respectively, in 22 different shooting disciplines.
