There's not much left to do other than try to win again

Editor's note: During the China Open, China Daily will collaborate with the WTA to bring you columns from various women's players in an effort to provide insight into life on the tour.

Hi Beijing, I'm back! My favorite trip here was when I won the China Open last year, right after my victory in Tokyo.

Winning the China Open was great. It's a huge tournament, and everybody who plays it is top notch. I've been playing really well here and the crowds are always so good. It's for sure one of my biggest titles.

I would like to at least make the final again, and I will do everything I can to get there.

Though I have played in Beijing several times, I haven't seen much of the city. I wanted to go out last year, but I came the day before my match, and I was playing till the end, so it's always a problem where I don't have time for anything else. Maybe this year.

The most familiar place for me in Beijing is probably the Silk Market - I go there every time I'm in town. I even learned a Chinese sentence - wo yao qu xiu shui - which means "I want to go to the Silk Market".

Whenever I go there, I meet a lot of players and coaches - there is always someone from the tournament. I think it's very popular, and it's not that far, so I think it's very nice to go.

My favorite Chinese food is Peking duck. I have it every year, any chance I get.

Back to tennis, I really had a great season this year. For the first time I reached No 2 in the world, and for the first time I made it to the finals in a major. I'm very happy I can do something for Polish tennis.

We haven't had many tennis players, just a couple of them. I think it is just great that even without any history and without any good facilities in Poland, I can still play tennis at the highest level.

I'm not practicing anywhere else, just in Poland.

It is proof that if you really want to do something, it is not a problem even in a country without that great of facilities or places to prepare, like academies. I hope more kids will play tennis and we see more Polish names soon on the tour.

I was named WTA fan-favorite singles player last year, which I was really happy with. To be the favorite among all the players - it's nice. Hopefully I will have that kind of thing again.

I'm also studying tourism at Polish Sport University in Krakow. It's very hard because tennis is always my priority and I have to travel a lot for tournaments. But I'm lucky that the university allows me to work my studies and exams around my schedule and I don't really have any deadlines there, otherwise it would be impossible to study.

I think it's good to know something other than tennis.

Agnieszka Radwanska is the 2012 Wimbledon finalist. She is ranked third in the world.
