"The man was definitely not on the staff of our club. He was just an emotional fan. And The referee failed to control the game well – perhaps he was too young."

                            - Yu Tao, general manager of the Qingdao club

Chinese soccer fans have many ways of letting off their dissatisfactions. They abuse. They spit. They throw bottles… This time, they kick referees. An enraged fan invaded the pitch, karate-kicked referee Wang Zhe and shoved a linesman after two players on his home team Qingdao Jonoon were sent off within three minutes during the club's 0-2 loss to Shanghai Shenhua in a Chinese Super League match on July 25, 2010. If that wasn't entertaining enough, around 100 fans also smashed a car they believe belonged to the referee. The karate-kicking fan later turned out to be an interpreter for the Korean players on the Qingdao team.
