Since its establishment in May, Chongqing's first financial service platform in Liangjiang has served more than 140 enterprises in the Northern New Industrial District. The platform has so far been responsible for issuing loans worth 550 million yuan ($85.80 million), according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.

The financial service platform is jointly developed by the Chongqing Northern New Industrial District and Chongqing Born Group.

The platform acts as a professional public service which aims to serve enterprises based in Chongqing. The development of the platform is aimed at serving and promoting Chongqing's high-tech industry, according to a senior staff member from the Chongqing Northern New Industrial District administrative committee.

It is hoped that its establishment will attract financial associations and law firms to help small businesses in Chongqing gain access to financing, according to the platform's operation director.

According to the officials from Liangjiang New Area, in the second half of this year, efforts will be made to improve financial services geared towards investors and promote the construction of scientific research institutions in the area to help commercialize research findings.
