Jinan, as the capital city of Shandong province, is the center of politics, culture, economics and transportation as well as science and technology in Shandong. Because of the numerous springs, Jinan is known as "spring city" and has gained fame from a poem saying “on four sides lotuses bloom, on three sides willows grow, half of the city’s scenery shadows on the lake”. It is also a national-level famous historical and cultural city and an excellent Chinese tourism city.
Dongying is located in northeastern Shandong province, in the delta where the Yellow River joins the sea. It is a key node city in the Bohai Economic Rim and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
The city has the most complete, broadest and youngest wetland ecosystem in the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve in China. Known as “one of the most beautiful wetlands in China”, it covers 1,530 square kilometers.
Dongying is also one of the key oil production bases in China. The petroleum equipment industry is Dongying’s specialty and a shining example of “Made in Shandong” and “Made in China”.
Yantai is located in the eastern part of the Shandong Peninsula. It is one of the international harbor and commercial and tourism cities in the Bohai Sea economic circle and the Northeast Asia international market. The comfortable climate, favorable environment and abundant resources have won it the UN Habitat Scroll of Honor, Best Leisure City in China and National Historical and Cultural City.
The city is among the first batch of 14 coastal opening cities in China, a key city involved in the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, earning the title of 2016 Positive City of the Belt and Road. At present, Yantai has built up business ties with 64 countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road.
