Hanwa looks like roofing tile, but contains a film of thin flexible chips to accumulate solar power. It has high levels of performance, safety and appearance.

Hanergy announced at the news conference that it adopted a unique and world-leading thin-film solar power technology to produce Hanwa. The current chip production conversion rate is 17.5 percent, and Hanergy plans to boost it to 18.5 percent this year.

The capacity of one piece of Hanwa is 30W, environmentally equivalent to planting one tree, according to Li Hejun, board chairman and CEO of Hanergy Holding Group and vice chairman of the All China Federation of Industry and Commerce.

"We hope all roofs and walls can be covered with thin-film solar power products," Li said.

As Hanergy said, the company has five core technical lines of thin-film solar power. The conversion rate of thin-film solar power chips has created five world records for consecutive years, which peaked out at 31.6 percent.

The data released by the China Brick & Tile Industry Association show that 1.06 billion square meters of tiles were sold in China in 2016, a market growing on average at 20 percent per year.

Hanergy calculated that based on the current price of Hanwa, the estimated potential domestic market is 1.4 trillion yuan (208 billion dollars) and the potential global market may reach 2.8 trillion yuan (416 billion dollars).

At the news conference, Li described his views on the future of solar energy: "This is the Mobile Energy Era!"
