Changchun New Area in local enterpreneurs' eyes
China Daily reporter Chen Meiling interviewed local entrepreneurs at Changchun New Area. New Area. They expressed their affection and anticipation for the emerging area.
"I have seen my hometown change a lot in last few years. When I was in high school, there was only farm land in the southern areas of Changchun. Since it became a national high-tech industrial development zone, enterprises and factories were built, along with viaducts, schools, residential buildings, hospitals and shopping malls.
Though many of my classmates at Jilin University chose to seek jobs in Beijing and Shenzhen, I had no regret staying because my boss recognizes my work here and I have two lovely children. When you are satisfied with your life, you won’t leave. Besides, this is an excellent place for college graduates to settle in. It costs only about 2,500 yuan ($359.6 ) to rent a twobedroom apartment and the salary here is no less than that of developed cities."
Li Chunmei, assistant general manager of Changchun GeneScience Pharmaceuticals
"Changchun has stepped into a more developed era. I have visited the command center of traffic police in Changchun and saw how big data and cloud computing were used in their work.
I used to chop thick snow on the road with a kitchen knife, taking a whole day. Now snow removal trucks can quickly remove the snow and traffic has became more convenient. In the past, it took more than two hours to drive from the south to the north of Changchun. Since the construction of viaducts, the time has reduced to about 30 minutes."
Wang Ruiguang, general manager of Changchun Cedar Electronics Technology
"I once studied at Jilin University and Peking University, and worked in Shenzhen as a professional manager. Beijing, Shenzhen and Changchun were three of my selections when I considered the location for our company in 2004. Changchun New Area, which left me with a very good impression, was my final decision. When I applied for the registration for our company, the local officials warmly welcomed me. And in the past years, they have never hesitated to help a small company with only 70 employees to establish links with other companies, investors and clients, and helped us to solve many problems. Their honest and warmhearted attitude really touch me."
Guo Qingzhou, chief executive officer of Changchun JA Biotech
"After graduation, I worked in Hangzhou for about a year. Later, I decided to come back to Jilin province. On the one hand, I have parents to take care of. On the other hand, I want to use my knowledge and resources to help to develop my hometown.
This place provides a good platform for young people to realize their own ideas. Cheaper rent and commodity prices enable graduates to build their lives. The infrastructure is improving every year and more young professionals are attracted to live and work here."
Han Xue, chairman secretary of Jilin Lintian Yuanda Image Group
"I see a bright future for Changchun. Though Northeast China has been regarded as less developed than some other regions, I believe the city’s economy will be revitalized by the joint effort of its government, enterprises and residents.
I think innovation is the key to developing Changchun quickly, which means to do something no one has tried before. The launch of the JILIN-1 Satellite by our company in October 2015 is a good example of that."
Xuan Ming, president of Chang Guang Satellite Technology
"The local government issued a series of new policies for enterprises, which is, to me, quite inspiring.
To revitalize Changchun, I think the local government should make innovation in the city’s strength in traditional industries, such as automobile, biological medicine and new materials. For example, latest technology, such as big data, Internet Plus and VR can be applied into the development of these industries.
These years, the traffic in Changchun New Area becomes more convenient. Now there are two more buses reaching here and the light rail is under construction."
Guo Li, chairman of the board of Changchun Beihu Science Park Development
"I was born and grew in Jilin province. I knew China FAW Group Corporation and Changchun Film Studio when I was young. Besides, the city has attached great importance to natural environment and made efforts to develop its traditional industries."
Wang Chuanwei, deputy CEO of Tai-Hua Lightning Protection
