A motorboat zips between small islands and over placid water at the scenic zone of Fairy Lake, in Xinyu, central Jiangxi province, on Dec 22. As a national AAAA scenic spot, the Fairy Lake scenic zone has a land area of 198 square kilometers, including a water area of 50 square kilometers. With hundreds of small islands and emerald water, the Fairy Lake got its name from the legendary love story between Dong Yong and the Seventh Fairy from The Anecdotes about Spirits and Immortals, a mystery story series created by Gan Bao in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420).
