Xinyu recognized as China's Best Investment Destination
Xinyu was awarded China's Best Investment Destination and China's Happiest City at the third national conference on Chinese listed companies and city investment in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on July 30.
Organized by the China Listed Company Development Center and China City Development Academy, the event invited more than 300 people, including representatives from domestic and overseas listed companies, city representatives and experts.
A representative of Xinyu gave a keynote speech at the conference, briefing its economic and social development and the city's favorable investment environment. Xinyu welcomes new investments from enterprises to achieve mutually beneficial results.
Xinyu witnessed rapid economic development in 2011, with GDP per capita reaching $10,552 and fiscal revenue of 11.13 billion yuan ($1.78 billion).
In 2011, Xinyu was elected as one of the first national energy conservation and emission reduction model cities and the model city for waste mineral resource reutilization. The classification earned the city tens of billions in support funds from the government.
The Hangzhou-Nanchang-Changsha high-speed railway and Inner Mongolia-Ji'an railway both established stops in Xinyu. In addition, Xinyu enjoys a clean and pleasant urban environment, with afforestation coverage of 52.67 percent and green area per capita of 17.39 square meters.
The city boasts many national 4A tourist attractions such as the Yuxiu Mountain National Forest Park. It is also classified as a National Forest City and National Clean City.
Companies that invest in Xinyu enjoy favorable policies from the local government and have easy access to a large number of skilled workers from local vocational colleges.
