1200 projects signed on fruitful Jiangxi--HK trade fair
Nearly 1,200 projects were signed for a business and trade fair held by the Jiangxi provincial government from Monday through Wednesday in Hong Kong, seeking funding of about 1.4 trillion yuan ($215.3 billion) from local investors.
Among those, 433 projects relate to strategic emerging industries, 444 to modern services and 120 to major infrastructure construction.
The Jiangxi-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Events that the southeastern province organizes in the special administrative region has been held annually since 2002.
Over the past 14 sessions, more than 2,000 projects were signed with total investment reaching $73.1 billion. This year, the event includes two high-level conferences — one is between the province's Party Chief Qiang Wei and Hong Kong's Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying, and the other between Qiang and Zhang Xiaoming, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR.
The conferences deepened "mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, finance, tourism and culture" and helped Jiangxi accelerate its economic development, according to the provincial government.
