Xi’an Integrated Bonded Zone’s cold-chain transaction project occupies a ground space of 4.27 hectares and cost nearly one billion yuan ($151.69 million) to construct.
The project includes four automatic refrigerated storage units, one processing factory and an air conditioned cold store with a temperature range between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius.
The project provides a platform for the development of export-oriented enterprises engaging in frozen goods export processing, bonded warehousing and international trade.
The first phase of the project started in June, 2014, and was put into operation in May, 2015. Its cold storage has a capacity of 600 million tons and is capable of holding 300 million tons of refrigerated imported beef and mutton and 200,000 bottles red wine. The zone’s import and export trade accounts for an annual turnover of 200 million dollars.
