Jiangbei New Area holds promotion event in Shanghai to attract investors

The Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, hosted an activity in Pudong New Area of Shanghai on Oct 27 in a bid to promote its business environment and attract investors, chinadaily.com.cn reported.

As the first promotion activity held outside Jiangbei New Area, the event attracted representatives from more than 100 governmental departments, commercial chambers and enterprises.

Many participants showed interest in the area after an introduction given by Luo Qun, deputy director of the area's management committee, on its regional advantages and investment environment.

The participants included representatives of 15 Fortune Global 500 multinational companies and some major State-owned and private companies operating in such industries as high-end equipment, intelligent manufacturing, IT, telecommunication, bio-tech, cultural creativity, tourism and logistics.

The event also attracted some China-based foreign representations and organizations such as the British Consulate-General in Shanghai and the International Enterprise Singapore, as well as some auditing firms and real estate consulting agencies.

Liu Qingguo, a member of the Party committee of Pudong New Area, commended Jiangbei New Area's strategic position in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and expressed hope that both areas can cooperate in trade investment and industrial transformation to promote economic and social development in the Yangtze River Delta region.

On June 27, 2015, the State Council officially approved the establishment of the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (NJNA), which is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu province. According to its development plan, NJNA aims to become a hub for innovation, a demonstration area for new-type urbanization, a cluster of modern industries in the Yangtze River Delta region and a major platform for opening-up and cooperation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
