Construction on the Comprehensive Bonded Zone at the International Trade and Logistics Park in Xi’an city, Shaanxi province, began in 2011 after being ratified by the State Council.
Constructed on a ground space of 6.17 square kilometers, the bonded zone’s primary focus is the development of an export-oriented economy featuring export processing, bonded logistics and exhibitions and transactions.
Along with the park’s railway container center and highway port, the bonded zone is expected to increase the cooperation between Xi’an and countries in Central Asia to speed up the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt – an ancient trade route stretching from China to Central Asia and Europe.
The first construction phase of the bonded zone was completed in 2013. Since its completion, more than 100 enterprises have entered the zone, including Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) and Hedu Textile Company.
The bonded zone has established cooperation relationships with Tianjin Port, Qingdao Port and Shanghai Port to extend its services to Gansu, Henan and Shaanxi provinces, and the Xinjiang Uygur, Ningxia Hui and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions.
