Expo forums to enhance international cooperation

The 11th China - ASEAN Expo will hold 21 forums centered on a range of topics, such as transportation, finance, science and technology, environmental protection and education, to promote exchanges and cooperation in these fields.

The forums include the China - ASEAN Police Science Forum, the seventh China - ASEAN Thinktank Strategic Dialogue Forum, the ninth China - ASEAN Cultural Forum, the second China - ASEAN Technology Transfer & Innovation Cooperation Conference, and the fourth China - ASEAN International Stomatology Communication & Cooperation Forum.

An official of the commerce department said that the 2014 China - ASEAN E-Commerce Summit will focus on three themes: “cross-border e-commerce," "digital Internet city," and "Internet economic trends." It will invite leading e-commerce enterprises like Alibaba, Jingdong and Shangpin, as well as some well-known enterprises like Wal-Mart, China South City and Suning, to develop high-end interactive dialogues and on-site interaction.

The China - ASEAN Industry & Commerce Forum will focus on the theme "registration reform and cooperation of companies." It will emphasize the reform of China's current registration system of registered capital and expand communication and cooperation with enterprise registration departments of ASEAN countries, thus promoting bilateral investment facilitation and trade liberalization.

The first China - ASEAN Cyberspace Forum takes "development and cooperation" as the theme. It will hold deep exploration around network economic development & international cooperation, network security, network management and Internet infrastructure, which will provide an important communication and cooperation platform for building a new portal and new hub for the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

The sixth China - ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Leadership Forum will be held in Nanning on September 17, 2014. Representatives of the Chinese banking industry and financial institutions of ASEAN countries will attend and have a deep discussion around the theme of "cross-border renminbi business innovation."

During the past 10 years of successful China - ASEAN Expos, more than 280 high-level conference forums and communication activities have been held. Government officials, entrepreneurs, experts and scholars in all fields of the member countries were invited to engage in dialogue communication to study approaches and mechanisms for solving related problems in various fields, thus forming a series of cooperation mechanisms in related fields. Through the organization of forum conferences and events, Nanning's role has further developed, thus providing mechanism security for the formation of a comprehensive, permanent, stable and friendly relationship between China and ASEAN countries.
