Former Rerun Firm

Located at 197 North Jiefang Road, Heping District, Tianjin, the former Rerun Firm is now an important protection historic architecture in Tianjin and used as an office building. In the 1920s, Davis, an amateur horseman from the British Businessman of Horse Race Club, set up the firm in the aid of Gao Xingqiao, a local industrialist.

It was one of the major stock exchanges and mainly engaged in foreign exchange, gold, stocks and real estate. This two-storied brick-wood structure covers an area of some 800 square meters and has a floor area of about 1700 square meters. Red brick walls form the symmetric facade.

The first floor features furred walls, square windows and arch gate while the second floor features Ionic pillars and arch windows. Pilasters are found at every corner of the building. The dormant windows and two vaulted towers standing on the pitched roof give the building a lively look.
