As the heritage site under city protection and the special protection historic architecture in Tianjin, the West Railway Station sits at 1 Front Street of the West Railway Station, Hongqiao District, and about 1700 square meters in floor area.
The Station was built in 1910, serving as an important joint of the Jin-Pu (Tianjin-Pukou) railway which had initially been constructed in 1908(34th year of the Guangxu Reign, Qing Dynasty) and completed in 1912.
Facing southward, the two-storied brick-concrete construction has its facade look convex-shaped. It is in a symmetrical design with red-tiled sloping roof and dry brick walls, rich in structures, and windows along with their trims. The design presents typically in Eclectic style.
