Aviation convention kicks off in Xi'an

China International General Aviation Convention 2013, a national exhibition for the industry, kicked off on Oct 17 in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi province.

Sponsored by Shaanxi provincial government, Civil Aviation Administration of China, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Aviation Industry Corporation of China, the five-day convention aims to promote the development of general aviation and create more aviation industry collaboration.

More than 700 general aviation manufacturers, experts and officials from China and overseas attended the convention for exchange and cooperation on general aviation and to promote China's aviation industry.

During the convention, flight demonstrations and aircraft exhibitions will also be held.508 aircraft manufacturers from 18 countries and regions attended the convention, including China, the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, Lithuania, Brazil and Thailand. They will display their aircrafts and high-rank aviation equipment.

And a number of forums about general aviation industries and technologies will also be held during the convention.

The first such convention was held in Xi'an in 2009 and later on Sept 13, 2011, the convention was approved by the State Council to be held every two years in Xi'an, the permanent place for the event.
