The Eighth Qingdao International Beer Festival, with a tiger called Pi Pi as its mascot, kicked off in the International Beer City on July 8, 1998. The State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office was one of its hosts. It was an international, professional and people-oriented event with multi-faceted venues, spectacular performances and a series of cultural festivals.
