The First Qingdao International Beer Festival

The Qingdao International Beer Festival, one of Shandong province's most lively events, offers a rich assortment of beers and a wide range of entertainment. It attracts tens of thousands of visitors from home and abroad annually in a bid to promote local tourism, increase international exchange and cooperation, and raise the city’s global profile.

The First Qingdao International Beer Festival, with a dolphin called Fei Fei as its mascot, took place in Zhongshan Park from June 23 to 30, 1991. It involved more than 40 breweries from Japan, the United States, Canada, Singapore and Germany. It featured a variety of activities including beverage seminars and workshops, fashion shows and cruise tours.
