A rabbit character named Duo Duo, mascot of the 21st Qingdao International Beer Festival, was designed based on the Chinese zodiac animal and made public on July 20.

There are several reasons why Duo Duo was picked as the mascot’s name. Duo Duo is a popular name in China for bunnies and is pronounced gracefully in Chinese. Also, the name translates to “a large amount of entertainment”.

The mascot has a variety of poses representing the activities of the beer festival, such as the opening ceremony, beer drinking contests, trade exhibitions and recreational sports games.
