Hebei official commits suicide

Authorities in Handan, Hebei province, have confirmed that a local industrial and commerce official committed suicide on Jan 13 because of depression, China News Service reported on Jan 17.

Zhang Xinsheng, a former deputy director of Chaoyang sub-bureau of Congtai Industrial and Commercial Bureau, died after jumping off a building, Handan Industrial and Commercial Bureau said.

Zhang left a suicide note before he left home around 7 am and died around an hour later. The police confirmed it was a suicide after an investigation, and his body was cremated on Jan 17.
