CHINA-SHANGHAI-CAR IMPORT-INCREASE

SHANGHAI, Jan. 18, 2012 (Xinhua) -- Technicians from Shanghai's quarantine department check imported cars in a freight yard of Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone (WFTZ), a bonded port area in east China's Shanghai Municipality, Jan. 17, 2012. More than 280,000 imported cars went into the Chinese market via Waigaoqiao from January to December, 2011, a year-on-year increase of over 40 percent in both the number and the transaction volume of imported cars, according to statistics from Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
