It was a little cold in the early morning of Lijiang. Some grandmothers walked into small alleys with vegetable baskets and a few tourists rambled along the ancient street under the sunshine. Old rivers witnessed the mysterious stories of the city, vanishing in people's vision.
Romantic decorations |
We went back to the lodging inn at noon. For many Lijiang people, a real day starts in the afternoon. We hung out with friends, basked in the sunshine and observed the colors of the sky.
The overall view of Lijiang ancient town in the morning |
The night life in Lijiang begins at the bars. Some people sit in circles, listening to bar owners tell local stories. Many shop owners in Lijiang came there as sightseeing tourists a few years ago. They were tired of the busy city and desired a free life in the ancient city. They chose to stay and start small businesses.
The attractive night scene of Lijiang |
The shop owners had special life principles: "enjoy life first and run the business second; make friends first and make money second." They were not rich, but they were happy. The guests living at their inns felt at ease, as if all their troubles had disappeared.
Dozing off in the afternoon sunshine |
A midnight song was flowing through the warm air. Some tourists were a little drunk, wandering around on the ancient Bridge. I was not fond of drinking, but indulged with friends that night.
