Chengdu granted 'Renowned Software City in China'

Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, has beccome the third Chinese city after Nanjing and Jinan in East China's Jiangsu and Shandong provinces to win the title "Renowned Software City in China."

And the title for Chengdu will be formally conferred by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MITT) on Feb 21 in the opening ceremony of ChinaSoft 2012.

Hosted by the MIIT, State Intellectual Property Office of China,China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Sichuan Provincial Government, ChinaSoft 2012 will last four days.

Deputies to the event will discuss hot issues such as leading-edge technology of development, application demonstration, development tendency, technical standard, business mode and talent cultivation of the software and information technology service industry.

Chengdu's software and information technology service sector has witnessed an annual growth of 47.2 percent in the past five years, which is a rarity in Southwest China.
