In the wake of the successful holding of the 2010 Jinma Equestrian Sports and Culture Festival, the Wenjiang district of Chengdu will host the 2011 China Equestrian Festival from September 16 to 19.

As the festival draws near, the district is busy preparing for it, according to district chief Xie Chao.

Thanks to the guidance of the Chengdu Equestrian Association, the district has renovated six old stables and finished construction of two new ones in line with the standards of China Equestrian Association.

The eight stables can hold 130 horses, Xie said.

The district has also finished construction of a new lighting training ground in line with the guidance of China Equestrian Association so that athletes can drill in the evening when it is not scorching hot.
