The Shaanxi Provincial Women's Federation is joining the "Constant Love Action" to seek local kind-hearted people to knit sweaters for African orphans and handicapped children.

"Constant Love Action" is a charity project launched by the China Children and Teenagers Fund and Heng Yuan Xiang Group, a famous garment producer, in 2005 to care for orphans and handicapped children.

The Shaanxi Provincial Women's Federation participated in the "Constant Love Action" in 2005 and has sent 12,271 sweaters to orphans, handicapped and poor children in Shaanxi.

The exquisite, handmade sweaters embody the deep affection for orphans and handicapped children from kind-hearted people who have knitted them, said an official with the federation.

This year, the "Constant Love Action" is calling on kind-hearted people in China to knit sweaters for African orphans and handicapped children.

Together with Hebei and Shanxi provinces and Tianjin municipality, Shaanxi has been chosen by the "Constant Love Action" to seek local kind-hearted people to knit sweaters for African orphans and handicapped children.

The sweaters made by the kind-hearted Chinese will arrive in the embassies of South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Zambia and Zimbabwe in China at the end of this year and then be sent to the countries and donated to local orphans and handicapped children.

As 250 kilograms of fine wool provided by Heng Yuan Xiang Group for kind-hearted people in Shaanxi have arrived in Xi'an, capital of the province, the Shaanxi Provincial Women's Federation located in the city is asking kind-hearted people to take away the wool and knit sweaters for African orphans and handicapped children, the official said.
