On April 1, in a mine in Hezhou city, in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, a poisoning incident left at least one miner dead. The condition of at least three to four miners is still unknown.

The cause of the poisoning was the detonation of a bomb under the mine that resulted in the miners, who was operating in the pit several hundred meters deep, fainting from poisonous gas exhaustion. A rescue plan was abandoned because it was impossible to breathe in the mine.

An official in the Pinggui precinct of Hezhou, Guangxi, told a Guangxi traffic radio station, “We had rescued two miners from the mine, but their situation is still unstable. The rest, one miner, is still waiting for rescue”. The cause of the miner poisoning accident is under investigation.
