Tianjin Mayor Huang Xinguo said Tianjin’s preparation for the pending DAVOS World Economic Forum was in full swing, and the municipality is going to present “three major presents” for the global forum. The first is the Beijing-Tianjin Inter-City High-Speed Train, which will begin opertaing August 1. Secondly, the Airbus A320 assembly line will go on stream during DAVOS. And third, the planned Sino-Singapore Eco-City will kick off construction after the forum raises its curtain.
“The three major presents are what Tianjin will offer for guests and friends coming for the incoming DAVOS forum,” Mayor Huang said. The high-profile economic forum will benefit Tianjin in terms of helping the city to open its eyes to the rest of the world, and help it adapt to global economic practices. The coastal municipality is attaching great importance on preparations for the event. “A series of seminars and breakfast meetings will be convened to discuss hot topics. Tours featuring environmental protection and energy efficiency, harbor logistics, bio-science and technology and Binhai New Area development potential will be organized,” Mayor Huang said. Tianjin is expected to grow into China’s next growth engine, just after Beijing and Shanghai. |
