Comment on "For 'pambassadors', it's a dream come true" (China Daily, Oct 11)
I appreciate the campaign launched by the Chengdu Panda Base. It has prompted more than 60,000 people from 52 countries and regions across the world to submit applications to become "pambassadors". I think this activity is very interesting and meaningful.
There is no doubt that the competition will not only raise people's awareness about the giant panda, an endangered species, but also the protection of all animals.
According to the news report, the final six "panda ambassadors" will blog their experiences online. This method will be more convenient for people to be associated with a meaningful project.
I noticed that the winners come from Sweden, France, Japan, the US, and the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. The one-month training course at the Chengdu Panda Base can promote friendship and deepen communication among the panda fans from different countries and regions.
