What to do in Zhouzhuang during Lantern Festival

A raft of celebrations are slated to be held in Zhouzhuang, a renowned water town in East China's Jiangsu province to mark the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb 19 this year.

Here are the things visitors are able to do during the festival.

1. Relish Tangyuan

Tangyuan, glutinous dumpling balls stuffed with fillings like red bean paste, sesame paste and crushed peanuts, will be eaten on the day in southern China, which is believed to carry auspicious meanings including reunion and happiness. At the Shen Ting Jiu Jia, renowned a restaurant in Zhouzhuang, visitors are able to taste the Sanwei Tangyuan, a local specialty as well as other species with different fillings.
