Kunshan tops Forbes county list 2015

Forbes China announced the Top 30 County-level Cities in Chinese Mainland 2015, Top 30 Most Innovative Chinese Cities 2015, Best Commercial Cities in Chinese Mainland 2015 and other lists on Dec. 4. Ranking No. 1, No. 11 and No. 39 respectively on the three lists, Kunshan has outdone all the other county-level cities in China on the three lists. Kunshan has topped the Forbes list of Best Commercial Cities in Chinese Mainland and the list of Best County-level Cities in Chinese Mainland for seven consecutive years.
Forbes China has released the list of Top 30 County-level Cities in Chinese Mainland for the seventh time. Kunshan, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Changshu and Yiwu are the top five cities on the list. Besides, in the sub-list Top 30 Most Innovative Chinese Cities 2015, Shenzhen, Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai are the top five cities while Kunshan is No. 11 on the list, ranked higher than many capital cities and all the other county-level cities.
Forbes China reportedly uses the index system that reflects city commercial activities and the elements necessary to determine future development, i.e. eight indicators including talent index, city scale index, consumptive power, passenger traffic index, etc. to make a comprehensive analysis of the commercial environment and development potential of Chinese mainland cities. The list includes 100 cites every year. In this year’s list of Best Commercial Cities in Chinese Mainland 2015, Kunshan ranks No. 39 among all the Chinese cities and No. 1 among all the county-level cities.
In recent years, Kunshan has been pushing forward transformation, upgrading and innovation development and accelerating the development of modern service industries such as headquarters economy, modern financing, commercial logistics, conference & exhibition economy, e-commerce, etc. Up to present, Cross-Strait Youth Pioneer Park has been officially inaugurated by Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC; KSND has risen ten places in the comprehensive ranking of national-level hi-tech zones and its capacity for sustainable development has jumped to the fifth place nationally. In addition, the city boasts 99 national "1000 Plan" talents and 10 provincial innovation teams.
