Excellent location

Pu’er borders Vietnam, Laos, Burma, and its borderline stretches 486 kilometers. Lancang River, also known as “the Eastern Danube” flows through the area, and Pu’er boasts the national first-class port, Simao, the second-class port, Menglian, and 18 border crossings.

With the establishment of the China-ASEAN free trade zone, collaboration between the Lancang-Mekong River subzone, and the Kunming-Bangkok thoroughfare has greatly increased, and, together with the planned completion of the middle line of the Pan-Asia railroad, these factors mean that Pu’er is set to become a sort of golden gate of China’s opening up towards South Asia.
